Fatoumata Diawara: an international career in the service of women
Malian singer Fatoumata Diawara is a multi-talented artist. She is a singer-songwriter, guitarist, actress and activist. Her musical style, a blend of Afro-pop, blues and folk, has brought her worldwide recognition. Since then, she has put her fame at the service of major causes, notably the fight against genital mutilation. Today, to mark International Children’s Day, Fatoumata is back with SETE (“together” in Bambara), once again dedicated to the fight against genital mutilation. The album from which the title is taken is co-produced by M, aka Matthieu Chedid. More info on Afrik.com
